Letting Go
by Jennifer Bassig

I am a 26 year old teacher of children's gymnastics with my degree in Elementary Education. Children are my true passion and joy in life. They inspire me each and everyday, and I believe they can be our greatest teachers!

Holding on is the easy part
One can fill their minds with thoughts of the past,
We hold on so tight just to make them last;
Day after day they become a part of who we are,
The welts of our wounds have left the scar;
We embrace this image of what we thought once was,
the setting, the feeling, everyone does;
And then one day we are faced with the truth,
what once was will never be again;
For people move on and begin to grow
and it is then you realize you must let go...
