Where Is Justice?
by Augustine Nwaka, poet-contributor, Muse Apprentice Guild, California

Deep holes dug in our path
Holes that will never be covered
The feeling too hard to be felt
As hard as stone...
A perversion of justice!
Our plight, inhumanities are hard to be heard
Ears would be stiffened when they are heard

Only the gods knew
If justice was meant to be delayed
We weep, we sob sobbingly
Waiting for the "unseen justice"
Justice for our rights
What we yearn for
Justice for freedom of our living

The "Jungle justice"
Rattled us sore
Each time the day wake
The "firmament" remains unjust
Unjust to justice
Denial of justice is the denial of hope!
Justice is the last hope of man

Where is the justice for which we hope?
Justice of sacrosanct wisdom!
Justice of social justice!
Justice of equality, fair hearing!
Oh, where is this justice?
Has the court been a denial of justice?
Justice, that is an icon of fairness, equality and peace
