When I was born, you were the first man who loved me.
And with all your heart, you gave me love.
And with all my heart, I gave you my love.
And from now until eternity, shall you always have my love.

Father, you have gone yet you have not left me.
You are the candle shining brightly in my heart.
You live in my mind, you live in my soul.
You are forever a part of me, and I of you.

When I was but a young bird, you were my teacher.
You were the navigator of my life, you were the guiding force.
You helped me learn how to spread my wings.
You taught me how to fly.

Father, you were my inspiration.
You were my sun, which shined so radiantly.
You were the moon, which illuminated my heart.
You were the stars, which twinkled in the night.

When I knew of nothing, and nothing knew of me,
You taught me endurance, you taught me persistence.
You taught me perseverance, you taught me the art of patience.
You taught me to be understanding, you taught me to be forgiving.

And as my father, you were everything and more.
You taught me, as your father had and his father before him.
You taught me about pride, you taught me about honor.
You were my pillar of strength, you were my pillow of comfort.

Father, no words can express all the love I have in my heart.
No amount of time will ever erase our memories.
Father, and for all the ill words I have ever said, please forgive me.
Please allow only the love from my heart to yours to remain.

When I close my eyes, I know you will always be with me.
You are with me in spirit, you are with me in soul.
And through me, you live on and on forever more.
And if there is a next life, should the heavens and the gods prevail,
may you be my father once again and forever more.
