[an error occurred while processing this directive] Bones of Me
by James C. Fullbright from Mt. Pleasant Iowa

Bones of me lie in the open seas
Wrapped in sheets from southern trees
Bones of me pave the ocean floors
Sprinkled and buried along seashores
Bones of me are in shallow graves
Dark and dusty hidden caves
Bones of me are in river streams
Lost hope and shattered dreams
Bones of me decay in the urban street
Pierced arms, legs and feet
Bones of me scatter in a musty cell
Beatings, lynching, a common hell
Bones of me are in desert lands
Rest in peace in the scorching sand
Bones of suffering, tears and slavery
Walk, ride, sail, on the Bones of Me.
